Hey all, I've been playing around with several email applications and I was impressed with Kmail and wanted to give it a shot. However, I can't seem to configure the SMTP sever correctly at home or at work.

At home: I don't use any kind of encryption and just require a password to send mail with my ISP. However, when I configure Kmail to do so, it doesn't accept my password.

At work: We use exchange and imap protocols on our servers. When I configure IMAP support, again I cannot send email. I configure it with SSL as I should and again it either doesn't accept my password or the server reject my connection. Any ideas?

Thanks

Have you used the "Check what the server supports" button?

I have used that option in both cases and it has not been correct. I was, however, able to solve my problem at home. I changed my encryption to none and my authentication mehtod to login and it worked.

If I'm slow at work today, I'll see if I can tinker with it some more to get it to work.

It is quite possible that if the server might not need to be authenticated with for smtp. If you are trying to authenticate, it might not allow you to send. Try turning of authentication for sending.
