I'm writing this during "a check" on my new Mandrake. If you can't answer all, don't worry, I couldn't either :D
1. Why is my KDE's (I haven't checked GNOME, it may be X) resolution screws up 1 out of 3 times I attempt to start X? I get horizontal analysis correct but vertical is slightly deeper down to the panel, therefore I can't see the panel well. Hence, I have to kill X and restart.
2. Is Mandrakes Kernel efficient? I mean, when I was on the Slack I would compile 2-3 kernels a day :@) but, now, when I have everything running correctly I'm pretty afraid a new one. So, is it fast enough. That question goes only to experienced kernel "compilers". heh..
3. How the hell do I get xine to work with DVDs? I put a DVD in it and it just stops. I've installed all the rpms correctly (even the optionals). I haen't touched any config yet, if there is any. So, where are the configs if that's what I have to do.
4. I desperately need another nice DVD proggie, if you have any in mind.
5. If someone can explain to me the "umask" command for the partition mounts I'll be gratefull.
