I found out that you can pick up wireless network signals and, if their not encrypted, use their broadband service free and nearly undetectable.
What kind of a wireless networking gizmo would I need to hook up to my pc to detect my neighbors signals and "barrow" their service. I searched google and wound up finding many different kind of wireless networking cards, but I don't know anything about any of them. What would I need for what I'm trying to do?

Not to be overly anal about it, but...
You are asking for our recommendations to facilitate your theft of broadband services.
I think the Open Source Community has been unfairly painted with the broad brush of crackers, pirates, thieves and chepaskates far too often, if you don't mind.
Try asking this question on the alt.2600 NGs instead.

Good luck...

Not anal at all. Theft is theft, no matter what form it comes in.

The staff of JustLinux completely agrees. I tell you what, though; don't bother asking an alt.2600 newsgroup. We have a policy of not flaming; they don't.
