Upgrading to RH 7.1

I currently run RH 6.2 with kernel 2.4.3. I want to upgrade to RH 7.1 but I am concerned that the install will mess up my kernel. Does anyone have any idea what will happen when I run the install?

Any info is appreciated.

It will backup your kernel 2.4.3, and install it's own kernel 2.4.2 with redhat fixes.

This should go ok.

That is what I was afraid of....that means I will have to recompile AGAIN. Oh well I will just install 2.4.4 :)

:D Well if you upgrade to 7.1 becarefull on the kernal. I ran into a lot of trouble. But if you want to keep your setting the same just dont install the rpm files.
