Hello,
I'm trying to get linux either debian woody or libranet 2.0 installed on this old machine. Its a packard bell legend 100cd 60mhz, 40 MB ram, and a panasonic cr-563 cdrom drive which uses the soundcard as an interface. So now I need to make a bootdisk that includes the sbpcd driver in the kernel, so I can access the cdrom. Does anyone know of any documentation or possibly have some insight on this method of installation?
TIA

Still haven't figure this out yet. AnY help would be appreciated. I Searched the JL forums but it is very slim on this topic.

This looks like a fairly straightforward HOWTO:

Try a search on www.google.com/linux using keywords: non-atapi cdrom soundblaster

I gave that a try and got a few hits that looked promising...
