lost data

I reinstalled my system, but did not format my /home partition. i lost some data i had saved there. I'm running Reiser FS. This is the third install. the other times it recorder the data in/home as /home/data1,2. why didn't it this time?? i thought i was safe. i made extra sure that i did not format /home. i hope i didnt loose everything!!! Anyone know what's up?

If you didn't format the partition, and everything went well in the install, your /home partition should be exactly as you left it. What kind of data was it that was lost? Config files? Was it related in any way to the old system?

It was saved files like resume's some pictures and other doc's. also some stuff i had down loaded. some of it is important, some just save time stuff. I think it has something to do with the ReiserFS.
