Hi everyone,

I have installed Debian (latest, stable) on my machine. All it has on it right now is Lynx, GCC and Apache. Now, the machine has an NIC, as does my Windows XP machine.

I would like to be able to connect my Windows XP machine to my Linux machine. Preferably using SSH (I have PuTTY installed).

I have a CAT5 cable.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

apt-get install
sshd &

Then all you have to do is connect from your WinXP box.

It looks like he doesn't have a network setup though.

He needs to connect the boxes with a crossover cable, give each of the boxes a IP in the same subnet, THEN he should be able to ssh into the Linux box.

Won't work for a direct connection, although you could get another and a hub/switch then have a functioning network.
