I already did it with my TV but can I use a networked laptop as an extension of my tower's X server so I can drag apps to it?

But you can set it up to share mouse and keyboard calls like a dual head; but the apps end up stuck where they are. It's nice except it's fairly tasking on one of the machines. CoffeeMan 11-14-2004, 01:09 AM Synergy (http://www.togaware.com/linux/survivor/Synergy.shtml) I saw this on TechTV a whiole ago, and I think this is what you are looking for, I watched a demostration where they linked a Windows XP machine with a RedHat Enterprise Linux Machine, it was amazing. madcompnerd 11-14-2004, 02:54 AM X2vnc probably does that as well, but you can't send over apps. It'd be hugely complicated to do that... retsaw 11-14-2004, 04:16 AM x2x does the same thing as synergy, but you only have to run it on one machine and it only works with X servers so you can't use it with Windows. It also has a bug where it crashes when I use buttons 6 and 7 on my mouse which is a minor annoyance. I'll have to try synergy and see how it compares. madcompnerd 11-14-2004, 05:57 PM Win2vnc works on windows client, and you can run vnc on a windows machine (I'm pretty sure). But yea, either way, lots of desktop lag.. justlinux.com
