PLEASE, SEE MY POST UNDER /DEV/RANDOM!
I am trying to build a cluster with low-end PC's. Desktop units you don't use anymore with similar specs to:
**Approx. 500mhz processor speed (could be higher or lower - x86 only)
**Hard drive size large enough to accomodate Fedora or Gentoo Linux with other assorted HPC software programs. (2.1 gig or higher)
**PC-100/133 Dimms (machines or motherboards must be able to accomodate at least 256mbs of ram) in 128mb, 256mb or 512mb size.
**10 or 10/100 PCI or ISA NIC Cards
**Used UPS with decent battery (def. willing to pay for this, or might invest in new one)
**low-end graphics cards, PCI or ISA with at least 2mb-4mb's Video Ram and compatible with XFree86 and X.org
**CD-ROMS compatible with Linux ISO Boot Disks
**Power Supplies (depending on supplies, AT, u-ATX, ATX and others welcome)
**Old Macs are also welcome
**Cases, used power supplies and cables are also welcome.
