I'm getting on with SuSE 7.1 + KDE2.1.1 just fine, Yast2 and kpackage make things very easy for ppl who don't know which file to edit (like me!) Stween 05-01-2001, 09:36 AM i think SuSE linux is best for the newbie (although i have never seen it run well myself, most ppl recommend it coz the installation of it is easiness in itself) I figured out RedHat first time i tried to install linux -- and i didnt have a clue. But then i am slightly reckless in that i really didnt care if i trashed my system, coz i would be perfectly happy for the challenge of starting fresh :) Yeah, so im wierd... Seriously tho', try installing SuSE. Once you have it installed, you can try and figure out how it actually works :) Stween bdg1983 05-01-2001, 09:40 AM I am a newbie, and I`ve been running slackware for a while now. It isn`t the easiest to install or configure, maybe SUSE or mandrake. But if you want to learn, slackware sure as hell give you all the trouble you need :D justlinux.com
