I was reading throught the Progeny site and it said that the distro came with kernel 2.217... w/option for kernel 2.4. Does the 2.4 kernel come on the install cd and you just choose which one you want or what? Any other info/warnings you can give me on this distro would be great.

That's exactly what it means :)

Info/warnings? Well it's debian based what is there to say but
 Debian

Seriously, it's a great distro. I have it running since early beta and apt-get'ed my way to 1.0. No problems ever (I don't use it all that much, though, as my main distro is  Debian  ;)

If they pre-compiled it for you, it should be in a .deb format.. could possibly be located in /usr/src/ but I havent used it yet, so who knows

Progeny looks sweet :D I'm guessing that this is essentially Debian...except with a few 'crucial' updates? (Xfree, glibc, the 2 kernels, etc.) ...and an easy-to-use graphical installer?

I can't resist anything with Debian in it (excepting the official distro, which took me 3 hours to install and configure the first time)

I'm downloading it right now... :)

Question - does the Progeny-Debian 2.2.18 default kernel include USB support (ala Mandrake), or must I choose the 2.4 kernel? And what version of 2.4 is included (2.4.2 or 2.4.3?)? Does it include CUPS, or at least is there a deb package for it (I like CUPS :) )

I'm looking at burning the CDs at work this weekend (no burner at home, and only dialup), but only have a USB printer (which works great in 'Drake, so I'm not willing to switch if I have to fuss majorily with that).
