permissions problems with mandrake

Hi all

I hope this is the right forum, apologies if it isn't.

/dev/nvidia and /dev/nvidiactl keep having their permissions changed from 666 to 660.

The nvidia docs said to edit the

/etc/security/console.perms and remove the lines containing <dri>. This made sense as the settings looked like they were changing the files to 660.

I manually changed the files back to 666 after removing the <dri> enteries.

But the files keep changing back again?

Any pointers as to where else I might look please?

there is likely a hotplug or device configuration file somewhere in your /etc directory.

it may be in a subdirectory.

I found the culprit, it was

/etc/udev/permissions.d/00-udev.permissions
