I tried to install Slackware7.1 but it does not see the partitions I created, ext2 and swap, both are primary partitions, so I installed Drake8.0 which found them just fine,so what's the problem and how do I correct it? I'm running Win98 and 2k on the same machine also with System Commander as my boot manager

When I installed Slackware, I performed a logical partition - primary also gave me a problem. (Ext2 and Swap). When you run the Slackware Setup program (after you boot up using the CD) make sure you go from step 2 (step 1 is the help file) all the way through. I think selecting your SWAP file is first, then your EXT2 partition. Then just follow through from there.

Thanks for the info I'll give it a try, however I thought swap was always created as a primary partition

Tried logical partitions for both ext2&swap still wasn't seen by Slackware, both partitions are at the back of the drive maybe that could be a prob? so I'm giving up for now,try again later thanks, Dark Ninja
