Blackbox not running..

I got Blackbox to finally compile, but whenever I reboot it's not running whenever I login. I made a .xinitrc file in my /usr/local and /home directory with no luck. What am I doing wrong??

I follow the docs that came with it and the NHF on this site and niether have worked..

Ok, I finally figured out that if I edit the file /etc/X11/xinit/Xclients and put exec blackbox in the first line I can login my user account and BlackBox works. However, whenever I try to login as root, the screen just flashes and sends me back to the login prompt. Any ideas?

yeah, don't log into X with root...Use su

Other than that, does root have a ~/.xinitrc file? If so, what's in it?
