I've been trying to set up my Gnome Favorites (the footprint | Favorites) so that I can come to this forum. I paste into the Properties | Command
/usr/bin/netscape-communicator
with difficulty, sometimes Ctl+c works, sometimes Alt+c, (*$&&^*!
then I go to my Netscape Bookmark and paste http://www.linuxnewbie.org/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=1
after the Netscape call for an argument.
so that I have as a Favorites Command
/usr/bin/netscape-communicator http://www.linuxnewbie.org/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=1
I sign onto my ISP, click the new Favorites item and it brings me to LinuxNewbieOrg, but with no forum selected. Can anyone tell me a better way of setting this up?
I realize this is a kinda boring question reminiscent of Windows, but to learn Linux you have to try (seems to me) and eliminate all the clumsy things you keep stubbing your toe on when you are trying to learn something REALLY interesting.
