Package installation Hard disk SUSE9.1

Hi,
I have downloaded latest KDE and copied to my hard disk. How do I install the packages from my hard disk. I have tried with YAST , changed the source directory to point to where I copied the files but when I ckick on Install Software, nothing happens .

Try the old fashioned way

Open a console, su to root and
rpm -ivh packagename.rpm

if that doesn't work it will spill errors to let yuo know why
