changing host name.

Hi all,

I'm running Mandrake 8.1 and would like to change the computer (host) name. I mistakenly named it the same as another machine on my network.

I believe the 'hostname' command is what you are looking for.

You can manually change the hostname in /etc/HOSTNAME or use your distros gui network configuration tools or just use hostname as in 'hostname <your_hostname>'.
