I am running Mandrake 8.1 and was wondering if there is any way to log into my machine remotely (for example from a windows machine at school).

I just need to be able to login and issue commands remotely over the network, X windows is not necessay. Although, I have head that you can uses X windows from one linux box to another using the X -query ipaddress.

Thanks

Yeah, glad to see you chose that. SSH is definantly better. I found this out one day when I was snooping the network to debug some jsp code, when to my amazement I saw all the developers logging in, etc and could get their passwords! Google soon told me what a moron i was and I took telnet out completly.
