Before I test out SuSE 7.1 (Which seems more attractive now that Wine will let it run Windows programs) I would like to know this..what about drivers for Linux? Who makes them? Where can I get drivers for the following devices:
- Maxtor 1394 External Hard Drive
- Kensington USB Optical Mouse
- Linksys USB network adapter (10MBPS)
- ESS Maestro-3 Sound Card
- Trident CyberBlade i7 (multiple monitor support)
- Archos Jukebox 6000
If anyone knows if those drivers exist, please tell me where I can get them, for future reference!

You can check the general hardware support at www.linux.org (http://www.linux.org) and SuSE probably has a hardware support list as well.
Not sure what kind of problems you will have with your firewire/usb stuff though...

1394 Mass storage devices are not supported yet to my knowledge. You linksys usb NIC might work, but you should upgrade to kernel 2.4.3. I remember seeing something about the Archos Jukebox on here before, but forgot what the resolution was. I suggest doing a search fo that for any possible problems you might have.
Everything else should just work, it would with Mandrake.

Someone please explain what that site means...and how the hell do I upgrade my kernel without typing 1,000,000 commands?

Maybe Linux is not for you. And I counted 1,000,001 commands. ;)

Don't mind him , he's just kranky... Don't give up on linux, but you really ought to do a search of the forums before posting a question. Look for updating kernel, or compiling a kernel. Its not bad, and you can do it no prob, just read up first.
Good Luck :)

I got an evaluation of SuSE 7.1 running and I have 2 questions:
1) How do I crack it
2) How do I install drivers for my PCMPC100 V3 (Linksys PCMCIA network card)
