Games:
Well some wingames can be played using WINE (www.winehq.org) for some games (UT and Q3) we have binaries to make Win32 versions play in Linux... UT runs sweet btw
Last but not least Lokigames and some others develop Linux ports of some games.. (check out www.ebgames.com (http://www.ebgames.com) they have Linux games at 10$)
You can check with www.Linuxgames.com (http://www.Linuxgames.com) for the latest and greatest... and www.happypenguin.org (http://www.happypenguin.org) is GREAT too.

If you are looking for HL - CS we have it too :)

Hardware:
Well again it depends which distro you use... Mandrake seems to cover it all... Otherwise Progeny Debian is GREAT... (I have to recomment it, as I'm a debian user - U learn about this if you stick around)
We have our asses (SENSEI, can I say *** in the forum??) well covered, on this part...

INTERNET:
We have it... WE OWN IT !!!! MUHHHAAAA :)
Linux is GREAT online, just check out www.mozilla.org (http://www.mozilla.org) and www.opera.com (http://www.opera.com)

Windows:
WHO NEEDS WINDOWS ?????? We have Inet + games + HW support + Speed + Stability
Anyways, you can dualboot in your transission fase... But UT under Linux is SOO MUCH SWEETER !! It kicks the P.A.
Just check with www.ximian.com (http://www.ximian.com) or www.kde.org (http://www.kde.org) (gnome is a bit faster, but KDE is only just as slow as Windows)

Appz:
HAVE WE GOT APPZ for U... www.freshmeat.net (http://www.freshmeat.net)

PHUN: www.userfriendly.org/static (http://www.userfriendly.org/static)

Hatred:
Have we got hatred... just check out the flamewars in this phorum... :)

But anyways Welcome amongst the enlightened Ones... Just holler (Privat Message and I help you out)..

GTS 2... you are in luck... Nvidea are developing drivers... just check with their website...
Athlon 800 if just fine... RAM is prob. more important (My rage is fueled by 512 MB :) )

and if they are running windows with it

What do you mean? I have Linux, Win2K and Win95 installed on the same box.

Well not enough hardware support because my Radeon still isnt kicking for games yet but im sure XFree86 4.1.0 or what ever the next version that comes out will support it a lot better. But other then that ive been spending more time on Redhat then i do Windows. Only if my Radeon would work. Im dying to play Q3 and Tuxracer.

Your hardware support should be great. My geforce 2 gives me a significant boost in fps over windows.

However, if your mainly a gamer, right now there are not enough games out for linux. You wouldn't want to run it soley.Linux works great for Quake 3 and UT, but you'd miss out on games like Giants, Citizen Kabuto. :(

Finally, Slackware and Debian are great, but I'd recomend starting with Redhat or Mandrake. I started with Redhat, then moved on to Slackware. Back in redhat because of a printer problem w/slack, but I'm planning on Debian. :)

Windows is OK... I posted this message from my Win Box, but I just happen to like Debian alot better.... I dualboot as Linux is rather hard to use if, like me, you are a FLAMING MORON... but I'm learning..

Uptime GOOD !!! :)
