I apt-get dist-upgraded last night and after the download got this error.

[Scanning packages]
Template parse error near "" at /usr/lib/perl5/Debian/DebConf/Template.pm line 60,
<TEMPLATES> chunk 3.
E: Sub-process /usr/sbin/dpkg-preconfigure --apt returned an error code (29)
E: Failure running script /usr/sbin/dpkg-preconfigure --apt

I ran it again a few times and the same thing happens, I ran dselect and chose the install option which gave the same error, I ran apt-get install apt and apt-get install dpkg and installed the latest versions of those, but it still happens.
What can I do? I really want my Debian system back in working order!
Thanks

I fixed it by installing debconf but now libgnomeprint11 just refuses to install. I've used Dselect, apt-get -f install and apt-get dist-upgrade lots of times but it just won't go any further, is there a way to force it to install? I thought thats what apt-get -f install was supposed to do but I guess not.
