Thumbnail generator?

Where can I find a free (GPL) thumbnail generator? I've done some searches but have only found some shareware/pay so far. I just want to make a variety sizes of thumbnails and have a prefix added to the file name.

Have you looked at freshmeat? I have seen a number of these there, but never got one, as not needed here. HTH, Ray

Thanks for the tips. I've been using Thotor on my computer at work while I didn't have net access at home. But it is for Windows only, as far as I know.

I tried freshmeat, and am getting better results with different searches.

I did find ImageMagick (http://www.imagemagick.org/), but I'm not sure how to use it yet.
