KPPP and Earthlink

Running Mandrake 8.1 and desparately trying to establish PPP to Earthlink. I used Compuserve in the past and it worked. My current settings are:

PAP
Dynamic IP
Default gateway
Domain name: earthlink.net
DNS: 207.217.120.83
207.217.77.82
my user name and password

The modem dials and then the connection times out. The earthlink account works under Win2000. I don't see what else I could change. if there are any successful Earthlink users out there, I'd appreciate your suggestions.

Not sure if you know this already but for Earthlink you have to use this for your username:

ELN/username

And for MSN users, use this:

MSN/username
