Where should the files go ??

Well I installed a cut down version of Mandrake and now Im trying to install some packages that are asking for files. Obviously I didnt install all the packages that I should have but at least it runs now.
I can see them on the CD now where should I put them.
1) one package asks for IPChains and Libstdc++
2) The other package cannot find X.
Can someone tell me where I should copy the 1) to. What should I do about X ?

Hi! Mandrake is based on redhat so the packages are probably rpms that you can install by navigating to where the packages are and install with "rpm -iV <packagename>" at the command line since you not have X installed yet.

X probably refers to the X window system. Try looking for XFree86 or something like that..
