I'm having problems getting FC2 to run on my NEC Versa E6000(Specs below)
Pentium M 1.7
512 ddr pc2700
60gb IDE
Raedeon 9100 ipg 128(shared)
Audio Controller Analog Device AD1981B Audio CODEC
Audio Codec AC 97 V2.2
1024 x 768 (XGA)
Modem 56K V.92 Data/Fax MDC Modem
LAN On-board 10/100 MBPS FastEthernet
Wireless LAN Atheros 802.11b/g WIreless Module (54mbps)
USB Port 4 x USB2.0

I can run the install fine, but at first boot after install it will lock cold, the only way to restart is a hard power down. I've tried to install by letting disk druid do it's job, and I've tried to create the partions manually, but still no dice.....................
Any suggestions anym one???????

You say that it "lock[s] cold"
What do you mean? Can you give us any of the output? Or if you see no output, can you describe exactly where it stops, what it gets to before it stops?
If you have the graphical bootsplash, disable it as soon as it comes up by hitting F2. Then you can see the text to tell us what it says.
Or is the problem right at the beginning with your bootloader? Is it LILO or GRUB? What is the message?
Once you have this info, repost it here, and then we can begin the dissection... :D

Thanks Rinias
I'm using grub and that is fine...............well I can boot XP of it with no dramas(boo hiss). It seems to start booting but as soon as it hits the splash screen it crashes......pressing F2(before the crash) didn't do anything................it's funny RH9 did a simmilar thing, but MDK 10 community worked ok(not perfect, but ok)

OK-
I can't really say what your problem is... yet. Though you need to get into the system somehow to tell us what the error is. About how long does it take for it to freeze? Try pressing ESC also to see if maybe that gets you the text.
If not, try loading up your bootdisk (you made one right?) or using the cd to boot. If you use the CD, try and give the option root=/dev/hda3 or whatever your root partition is to the kernel- see if that gets you past it.
For some reason I'm feeling a kernel panic- like it can't read the root filesystem cause it doesn't have the tools or that it's getting stuck on your hotplugging, though I'm not sure.
What filesystem is the root partition? Did you install the filesystem programs to handle it?
If you do get into the system, try and look at your logs. If you can't get in, use Knoppix or something and search in your /var for possible messages related to boot. ( that is the /var of the FC not Knoppix).
Good luck!

Well, it's been a while...........gave up on FC2.....just couldn't crack it.....but I'll use it on my desktop, but I've gone with Suse 9.0 on the note book, :D which funnily enuff is having a simmilar problem....turns out its corrupt /boot and /root partions.......
