Lost USB Mouse

Whenver I use VMware my USB mouse stops responding, and the only way I know how to get it working again is to reboot.

Is there another way to get it started again? Maybe reload the modules for the USB mouse or something?

Could you be more specific? Is Linux running as the VMWare client or server?

Linux is the host, the main OS. I am running windows through vmware in a window.
