I have no problems with Netscape crashing, and I am using the one that comes in/with Slack 7.1 - have you tried either using either the java plugin from www.blackdown.org (http://www.blackdown.org) or disabling java completely?

I run Mandrake 7.2 and use Konqueror. Netscape was slow until i tweaked my hard drive. Netscape has locked up twice on me. Konqueror hasn't and runs a lot faster than netscape. :)

I agree with you on every point above. If you can get it (and I'm sure you can) try Netscape 4.72. It seems to be one of the better releases and the only one that I use.
