where to find libGLcore.so.1?

i try to install Foobilliard in my Mandrake 10 official (downloaded). during installation it says cannot be installed due to unsatisfied libGLcore.so.1

i googled but end up with links of people like me.

I think libGLcore.so.1 is included in official NVidia driver installation package. Depending on which video card you use, either intall the NVidia driver (http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux.html), or maybe there is a SDL version of Foobilliard, in which case you make sure you have libSDL installed too.

It's in the nvidia install package or if you don't have an nvidia card it will be in the XFree86-Mesa package

I think Foobillard is GL only, no SDL...

i downloaded the package - NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111-pkg1.run
from nvidia website. i install the package but then it prompted ;
"You appear to be running an X server; please exit X before
installing. For further details, please see the section INSTALLING
THE NVIDIA DRIVER in the README available on the Linux driver
download page at www.nvidia.com."


how do i exit this X server?(sorry for this low-level questions)

2) i tried to install some games into Mandrake 10 such as pingus, freeciv etc. i installed the rpm but then prompted message like -
"Some package requested cannot be installed:
pingus-0.6.0-271.i586 (due to unsatisfied clanlib)"

what cause this unsatisfaction? no lib?

in a consol has root try init 3. that should shoot down the x server. unsatasified lib means you dun have the required lib. gotta install that lib before your program. try rpmfind.com or use urpmi. if you dont know urpmi is a program for mandrake that will download and install app and what ever libs they need. go to http://urpmi.org/easyurpmi/index.php to set it up. must run urmpi as root btw.

i managed to install the libGLcore. i installed the foobilliard and 3d chess.when i run it, it just show it is starting (the clock sand rolls) but then it is gone. where and what is wrong ? hmmm i guess that what life is - problem comes after another.

run it from a terminal, it should give error output there for you.
