I want to upgrade my orinoco driver so that I can detect wireless networks by using monitor mode. I found a page with a bunch of patches on it but none for my version of the driver (0.13a). Can I just download the new v0.15 driver and compile it?

i tried to run the makefile of the new drivers and it says
PCMCIA_CS must be defined to overwrite old drivers. Stop.
I don't have pcmcia_cs, my kernel has card services built into the kernel. I'm clueless.

Okay, some progress. I installed the 0.15RC1 drivers and did a dmesg to confirm that it was the new version. The update site says I also have to update pcmcia-cs but I don't have any pcmcia-cs.
It says if the update works, I should see "monitor" in the list of supported functions when I do a iwpriv eth0 but i don't.
