Hello everyone,
I am having a problem getting my built-in wireless card in my Averatect 3200 series laptop to work. I know it is prossible to get it working using ndiswrapper because I have read many posts about other people doing it without problems. However, I installed Fedora Core 2 and installed the correct driver for the wireless card with "ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5a.inf", but it is not marked as present afterwards. I'm thinking that maybe the wireless card isn't getting picked up as being connected to the computer at boot up. If anyone one knows what might be the problem please let me know.

- Thanks

When you say marked as present, do you mean in the Fedora Core network GUI tool? If so it might never show up there. I have a built-in wireless card on my laptop and it doesn't show up as recognized in any GUI tool even after installing ndiswrapper. You can always break out your favorite text editor and setup the proper network configuration files by hand.

Actually I meant when I type "/usr/sbin/ndiswrapper -l" it didn't show "bcmwl5a present" it just showed "bcmwl5a" and thats it. Which is not correct by the way it has to be marked as present in order for it to be used. I also know it will never show up in the Fedora Network Config GUI, but thats not what I'm concerned about.

Well I recompiled the kernel just to make sure it wasn't something in there I needed (2.6.8.1). It still isn't working tho.
