Hi. I am vaguely following this guide http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/showproduct.php?product=810 to setup ndiswrapper for a ZyAIR G-300. All seems good so far, up to # ndiswrapper -l
Installed ndis drivers:
wlandcb hardware present
but then when I modprobe ndiswrapper I get this output from dmesg
ndiswrapper: using irq 9
ndiswrapper (setup_dev:1273): unable to get mac address from driver
ndiswrapper (ndis_init_one_pci:1516): Couldn't setup interface
Can anyone help me out as to what I can do here? Is it possible to get this card running via ndiswrapper? or should I look at something like Linuxant's proggie?

thanks

Do you know what chipset is used by that card? I tried googling for it and could not find anything. I would find out what chipset it uses and then look at the ndiswrapper website to ensure that it is supported.

this mite not work but its worth a shot, try setting up your DHCP and other settings in /etc/sysconfig/network.

JayMan8081, that is one of my main problems. I can't find out what cipset it is either. I think that ZyXEL possibly make their own chipset??

xlilo, I will give that a try, but it is complining about not being able to get a mac address, which would mean that it couldn't assign an ip address or anything like that wouldn't it ?

thanks

with your kernal version and make of card you may have dificulty, i had a simler problem with a simler card, i went out and got a d-link g520 and i got it working fine with ndiswrapper v0.9, if i were you i would check on your distros web site and see what cards are useable with your system, you will stand a better chance,
sorry i cant be much help to you but it does sound like you dont have a compatible card. i did have a problem much the same as you currently have and this was the problem.
keep us posted on what you do.
