Apparently it needs a "module" for my NIC but thats about all I know... Thanks in advance. colnago 10-18-2001, 02:26 AM I think the module you speak of is in fact a chip you need to install in the card. you can flash it with the info you need to boot from the network. I think it would really depend upon how your are set up. Check this out... http://etherboot.sourceforge.net/ PS SuSE 7.3 is out on the 23rd, if you are not in a hurry. bdg1983 10-18-2001, 05:15 AM The NHF on FTP Installs (http://www.linuxnewbie.org/nhf/intel/installation/ftpinstall.html) may give you an idea on how it works. You will need a bootnet image to create a network bootdisk from and the correct module for your ethernet card. Have you identified your particular ethernet card and the module it uses? PuterFreaK 10-18-2001, 08:08 PM Trust me, I dont have to burn anything to my nic.... All that was said is that you need the correct boot floppy that has the module for your card. That is how you do it, it is not how we think you do it, it is how you do it. Good luck trying to get more help with that attitude SC milanuk 10-18-2001, 08:16 PM http://sdb.suse.de/sdb/en/html/lmuelle_suselinux_internet.html Sounds like you are trying to do the same thing I am... You need to print out and read the directions at the above URL, then get the images for the bootdisk, the modules disk, and then the modules2 disk (just in case) and then boot from the bootdisk, it will recognize that you don't have a CD, then send you back to the screen where you have to load modules for your nic. Try the autoload feature, unless you know for sure what nic you have, what driver module it needs and any parameters it needs fed to it to work right. Then continue w/ your install via FTP over the internet. HTH, Monte PuterFreaK 10-19-2001, 12:27 AM I've done all that. My nic isnt in the list and autoload doesnt work (thousands of kernal errors) justlinux.com
