OO has a forms designer that has a dockable tool bar, with a number of widgets on it. It's own docs, say, you just drag these widgets out, and there they appear. No, they DON'T. I want to create a drop down list from some MySQL data and i cannot figure out how to USE those things. Help, please? TIA, Ray

Thank you. And, you find that works?

Or you if you have trouble with that.......with the form bar extended.... double-click (or long click) on the form you want.....mouse will turn into crosshairs and small rectangle........move the crosshairs to your chosen position for the form. Now drag it out to the size you want....simple.

OK, something is broken, here. I suppose. Let's be sure we are together, for just a second. Counting down from the top, on the left side, when a document is opened, we want the 5th item from the top. A long click causes the tool to float out onto the page. I want the item that is a drop down list. That's the 8th item on top from the left. When I click that, NOTHING happens. If I attempt to drag that someplace, the cursor never changes, and when I let up on the left button, nothing at all happens. This is the case with every tool in that floating toolbar. What can this be? If I double click a widget, the cursor does change, and I can drag out onto the page, but, then, when I release the left button, nothing appears there. It's OO 1.1.2 and I have opened a new text document. BTW, we are on RH9.
Thank you!

I can choose the "list box"....single-click, which turns the mouse into cross-hairs...... not pressing any buttons at this time......I move the mouse to the location that I want the "list box". When I get the cross-hairs to the location I have chosen I click and hold the left mouse button and then drag the rectangle to the size I want my form to be. When the button is released a dialogue will come up asking for additional information on your form function....your on your own at that point...for whatever usage you may want.

WHEEEEE!!!!!!

OK, we don't "drag" the widget, it's a click and release, place the control, then resize it. IT WORKS! AND, I've got a document that spills the MySQL data exactly as I wanted.

THANK YOU!
