What I am planning on doing is setting up a server - possibly running slackware, which is going to be connected via a pci 802.11b card and a 24dBi parabolic dish. This is for a connecting to a local wireless over my city, which is used for file sharing etc. without having to go through an isp.

What I want to do is have this server as a headless box, on an old pentium 1 and basically all it will do is join the wireless network with my local natwork at home. To access the servers via the wireless I want to be able to use my pc without having to use ssh or anything, using the other box as a gateway, while still being able to use my usual internet and the rest of the network at home as usual.

How would I go about doing this, and what are my options as other alternatives to this? I am basically after any input for ideas on how I can set up this and what is my best option to take.

Thanks :)
