I'm trying to rip ad encode cds with grip, but when I click the rip+encode button it says "Invalid encoder option, check your encoder config"
Where is the config and what should I look for?

From grip"s documentation website:
http://nostatic.org/grip/doc/ar01s04.html#mp3config

I could be wrong but you might need lame (mp3 encoder) for that.

Why would you want to use mp3 when grip encodes to vorbis :D

I rip to mp3 because that is what my car stereo plays, if it played ogg's, I'd make ogg's...
There are lots of config tabs under each tab, check them all carefully. I did get that error once but the option i change to fix it should of made it better, not broken...hope that and this helps...

Change this to .grip (copy off your old one), see if that works for you

grip to ogg first and then use it to burn a real cd with k3b. then you can use it for all cd players

ohh -- and if you want to make mp3s only, still grip to ogg and later convert with sox/lame/whatever

Not only is it redundant, but it will drop the quality, as you are running music through two lossy codecs instead of one...definitely not a good idea.
