Hi all
I am wondering when I installed Mdk 10 , and when it boots , it shows that it has failed to bring interface eth0. How can I correct it? Is it one of the reason that I am not able to install the modem driver?
Thanks for your help.

I have a Dell Inspiron 2650 laptop, which ran great with Mandrake 9.1. I suspect a HD going bad because of weird failures, and when I tried to install Drake 10.0, it also gave me an eth0 failure during boot-up. I had to switch back because the Nvidia drivers will not make the transition from accelerated to vga when I log out, though I am using download CD's and those buying the commerical version have had no problems, But, this is an interetsting coincidence.

Hi
That is the message that I gget when I boot the machine though I am able to connect to the LAN at work. But I am not able to install HMR56 modem driver which I intend to use a t home. Eth0 failure might have nothing to do with modem driver installation. Everything was prefect when I was on Mdk 9.2 though,
DO I need to configure something?

It has nothing to do with your modem driver.
Do you have a firewire port?

It might be that your NIC is eth1 instead of eth0.
Look with ifconfig what has been configured.
