Does any one know where Knoppix stores its XF86Config information? I have looked for this info, and I can't seem to find it. I am trying to install Debian (Woody) on my system that has a Riva TNT2 Ultra card. It works fine under Knoppix, but when I try to configure it, X won't load. If I modprobe rivafb, the screen goes all green, then if I type start X I get a vesion of KDE coming up with just a background, 3 icons, and a messed up mouse icon. I though I would try to overwrite my XF86Config file with what Knoppix is using, but I can't find it. Please help.
TIA

AFAIK it is in /etc/X11 as per normal.

That's worth a try

/etc/X11/XF86Config

It may be named slightly different, like XF86Config-4 but that's should be the standard place it is put

Thanks for the info. I copied Knoppix's config file and got X & KDE up & running. I did mess up my mouse though. I am going to try and fix that now. :)

Mice problems are usually easier to fix then display problems! :)

Glad that worked for you
