linux is not finding my nic

i just got my linux box set up today (redhat 7.1). However, it will not find my nic card. i dont know why but on my system i dont have kernelcfg. i have a linksys nc100U card. also, when i boot up i did the interactive boot up. When it gets to the part where it asks if i want to setup a network, it says failed. any suggestions?

less /proc/pci and see if the card is being detected by linux.

dmesg | less and see if there is anything interesting in there about the NIC.

Does the kernel have support for the NIC? Is there a module you need to load?
