Hey, I''m running Red Hat Linux 9.0. After installation, it wouldn't let me adjust my screen res any higher than 800x600. So I tried to adjust in Linux. After I change it to 1024 x 768, I get this message.

You need to log out and restart the X server for the changes to take effect.
Configuration was written to /etc/X11/XF86Config, original configuration saved as /etc/X11/XF86Config.backup.

And I'm unsure what to do. Any help? Thanks.

Ctrl+Alt+Backspace

This will restart X and (hopefully) put your changes into effect.

When I pressed CTRL+ALT+Backspace, Linux logged me out, but my screen res didn't change.

What card do you have? Maybe the driver doesn't support anything better than 800x600.

Intel(r) 82810 Graphics Controller

Onboard video. I didn't think I would have any problems cause it worked fine in Red Hat 7.3

I just checked Intel's website and my card isn't in the list. :(
