Hi all,

I had Mandrake 7.2 installed on my machine, which is a PIII 733, intel i810 integrated mobo :(. The sound card worked fine until about 2 days ago, when I was tring to reboot linux to NT, it hanged on me because it could not get the sound driver de-inited. Actaully, i had problem getting my sound card to play music. They always reported 'device busy' though my system beep worked fine. This is really annoying since I have to manually power the machine off.

Could some one help me out of this?

The intel810 chip set is supported in the 2.4.2 kernel. Mandrake 7.2 has 2.2.17 I think. You will have to download sorces for new kernel then make new bzImage. Also remember to select support for /dev/agpgart as this is required also for the i810. Now do you use/like supermount (I do) well 2.4.2 don't support it. So I got my sound and lost my supermount. I didn't like that tradeoff very much... I'm not a big sound freak... just a big freak period.
