Sound was working, now its not....

i had it working right after i setup RH 7 on my new pc, i then messed with the kernel and destroyed it (never use an rpm to upgrade the kernel!). i just started over again and did the kernel the right way (tars man). i upgraded aumix and sndconfig, it finds it, but gives me an error about the module i made.
its a via8cxxx. worked before, dont know why it wont now...

don't know if it will work but try loading any other modules it may need first, like sound or maybe soundcore. else, try to rebuild it.
