On a Red Hat Enterprise Linus ES Release 3 (Taroon) box for some reason Kerberos was installed as the default ftp for all users except superuser. I can't get regular users ftp to work and get the following message "KERBEROS_V4 rejected as an authentication type". The user is trying to exchange text files with a Win NT box. What I need to know is where is the file located that contains the default ftp path?

I've tried a several variations of locate and grep trying to find the target "usr/kerberos/bin/ftp" but got a big steaming pile of nothing.

Thanks for your help.

Not sure if this is of any help but look here. (http://cert.uni-stuttgart.de/archive/vuln-dev/2001/12/msg00075.html) Also, it might be a Kerberos V4 trying to connect to a Kerberos V5 box. Allegedly, if you connect to a Windows box that is set for V5, it should be backwards compatible with V4 but being MS, who the heck knows if that works.
