Total noob question:

I've got a few games and other apps that I'd like to uninstall from my FC2 distro. How can I removed them? They were not installed via YUM, so I can't just yum remove.

Also, I've got apps showing in my start menu that no longer exist. How do I remove them from the start menu?

Thanks.

How were they installed?

As for the start menu, isn't there a tool to manage that?

Moving to the Software forum as the Installation one is for distro install issues.

They are all installed .tar.gz files.

I should have the option to remove items from the start menu, but the menu to "remove this item" is whited out. I can't select it.

Btw, I'm using Gnome.

Do you still have the source you compiled? If so, cd into the dirs and try make uninstall.

To remove menu items if you still have your "Start Here" icon just click on it and go to the appropriate category and delete the item. You usually have to log-out and then back in to see results.
