Ok i recently installed Mandrake 7.2 and when I go to the terminal and type ftp it says, command not found or something similar. Yes I am logged in as root, but I have no clue why I don't have an ftp. I've tried using Gftp or whatever came with mandrake, but I can't get it to work. Whenever I try to upload a file it just sits there and hangs up for no reason. Anyone know what the deal could be??? Thnx for the help!!

The server could be busy or you could have something misconfigured in gftp. It works fine except for one Sun server (my ISP).

Most distros have an ftp get program (downloads) such as mget or wget.

Check Tucows, Sourceforge or Freshmeat for command line and x ftp programs to upload.
