Can't add engines to Firefox?

Out of curiousity, has anyone else had this problem with Firefox .91? I click the Add Engines menu option and nothing happens. It's not a big deal, but I'd like to be able to add G4L as an engine option.

are you having problems adding search engine plugins?
you may find these helpful http://mycroft.mozdev.org/download.html then type in www.google.com/linux in the site name feild

edit I just installed the plugin but I am unable to slect it from the firefox search toolbar:( :confused: i even closed and reopened firefox

That's the site I was looking for. I installed it and it works for me in .9.1, but then it sounds like your problem is the same one I'm having with the Add Engines part. Maybe a bug?

yeah this could be a bug, I wonder if anyone else has had this problem? maybe it is just user error on my part:D, I just checked bugzilla and did find any reports related to this problem, I may file a report tomarrow

When I click on the search field and select "Add Engines..." I get forwarded to this site: http://mycroft.mozdev.org/download.html I want to install wiki & IMDB so I select one of those 2 and the pop up comes up "Add the following search engine to the Search Bar?" and I say ok. Nothing happens. Restart. No new engines.

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041002 Firefox/0.10.1 on Gentoo Linux.

Any ideas?

Well, that's interesting. I have Firefox 1.0 preview. I can add ANY of the engines, except the IMDB and the Wiki. The dictionary, Amazon, Dictionary, all those work flawlessly. Maybe that tells us something.

Odd, I can add both of those just fine. Maybe they've been updated for 1.0PR in the past couple of days and they'll work now?
