Hi folks,

RH 8.0
Fedora Core 2

I encountered following problem in upgrading RH8 to Fedora Core 2

Absolute Symlinks
The following files are absolute symbolic links, which we do not support during upgrade. Please change them to relative symbolic links and restart upgrade.

/usr/tmp

# ln -sfr /tmp /usr

Invalid option - -r
Try 'ln --help' for more

# man ln
# ln --help
could not find -a and -r options there. Kindly advise how to proceed.

TIA

Here's what you could use about now..........HERE (http://www.die.net/doc/linux/man/man8/symlinks.8.html)

If you want the .rpm, PM me with your email.

If you want the .rpm, PM me with your email. Hi JohnT,

Tks for your URL.

I have following packages;
symlinks-1.2-18.i386.rpm
symlinks-1.2-21.i386.rpm
symlinks-1.2-22.i386.rpm

I suppose they are symbolic link utility. Kindly advise which one is apt for RH 8.0 TIA

They are all RH packages, I would say the newest version. I use version 1.2-8 on my Slack install with no problems.
