WMA to MP3? Wouldn't it be better to just rip it from the original CD?

if you have access to them, yes.

I have wma files from cd's that i've since thrown away, or have been damaged, so converting them would be a nice thing to do.

Ofcourse, libxine and mplayer both support wma playback w/ the win32codecs
