Hi folks,

Has any folk tried 'Drupal' before

http://www.drupal.org/

What is its main application?

Is it itself an OS with all its applications built-in, not necessary to run on a Linux distro?

TIA

From the "About Drupal" documentation:
"The Drupal core platform, additional plug-in modules, and many theme templates are freely available for download under the GNU GPL. Drupal, written in PHP and using either MySQL, PostgreSQL or mSQL as the database backend, can run on many platforms, including Apache or Microsoft IIS web servers.

A dynamic web site platform which allows an individual or community of users to publish, manage and organize a variety of content, Drupal integrates many popular features of content management systems, weblogs, collaborative tools and discussion-based community software into one easy-to-use package."

Hi Moderator,

Tks for your advice.

I found 'Drupal' 'MovableType' and 'Post-Nuke' on Internet. They look to me similar products. They have brief introduction on their websites. To go into detail I have to read through all their documents. Before doing so I expect to select the right one to proceed. In my limited knowledge on them after visiting their websites I prefer 'Drupal'. Therefore I start to post in anticipation having folks with experience on them shedding me some light.

What is your comment on them? Which of them will be more powerful having more features?

TIA
