Howto span harddrives

I woould like to combine 4 hdds into one logical drive in RH70. I have read the Raid how to but It seems outdated and does not cover span drives well

I don't use raid so I don't know about that but I find the logical volume manager (http://www.sistina.com/lvm/) quite useful. It gives you the best flexability when it comes to arranging partitions to logical volumes. You can also stripe data over several disks which gives you major performance improvements. There is a very good how-to on the above linked site and with the new kernel you get native lvm support.
