I was wondering if there are any good computer movies out there that I am not aware of. I do know of The Net, Hackers, Anti-trust but other then that I don't know if any. If anybody does know please let me know. Thanks

How did Hacker's become a "good" computer movie? ;)

hehe, seriously, the two that come to mind are RevOS and Pirates of Silicon valley, if you are interested in the computer aspect of stuff...

Always been partial to Swordfish, but I wouldn't recommend it to any computer nerd with a soft stomach... the "computer hacking" in that movie is just... out there...

Code Linux is another.

I second that! Hackers was awful and didn't even have a good 'story'

I thought Sneakers was very good, how often do you get a movie about 'a network securituy evaluation team'? :)

And a lot more available.

I agree with serz -- I'm watching Code Linux right now. Very informative.

But, hey! I like Hackers! Heck...I know it's not realistic. And I know it's kinda corny. But it has a good soundtrack (three to be exact) and it was one of those things that made me decide to take an even closer look at computers. (I already was interested, but it spurred me to learn more. In fact, after I saw it was when I ran across my first mentionings of Linux.)

So pbbbbbbbbbbbbbt. :p

It made me take an interest in Angelie Jolie. :)

I'm not much of a movie critic. It's all good, but make sure to check out Pirates of Silicon Valley.

Well I never ment "hackers" was good because it was so fake lol. I saw that movie a few weeks ago and I was like how does all that typing move you around a GUI screen?!? lol

Yeah I know about Swordfish, how can't I? One of my favorite movie. I will look around for those movie posted up there. Will be interesting to see some of them.

Also, with free movies, you can't go wrong.

Any others?

Not exactly a "computer movie" per say, but I think that TRON definitely deserves some mention.

Of course, not very realistic.... :D

I have never even heard of war games. Isn't there a few web sites that would have all this info on it? I will go have a lookk for one right now.

My favorite computer movie has to be 2001:A SPACE ODYSSEY; who could forget the Heuristically programmed ALgorithmic computer HAL 9000? It plays a central role in the film. As a kid I always wondered if by 2001 there would be such an advanced computer as HAL. Its made me spend a lot of time thinking about how one could make a machine actually think.
Tron takes second-place for me tho.

War Games (http://imdb.com/title/tt0086567/) was one of the original 'hacker' movies!

Note: The Internet Movie Database (http://imdb.com/) is a good source for movie information ;)

Of course, what computer programming genius would have the root password the same as his dead son, jonathan?
